Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS)
As part of the Diabetes Education Network (DEN), a Registered Dietitian works with clients, their doctors and other health care members to manage their diabetes. This position is a specialist in nutrition as it relates to Diabetes and is responsible for the nutrition care of clients and their families. Working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Dietitian shares expertise and knowledge of nutrition care with clients, as well as other healthcare professionals. The Dietitian with the DEN is a Registered Dietitian with the Ontario College of Dietitians and two years’ clinical experience in the management of diabetes is may be complimented by a current Certificate in Diabetes Education and membership in Diabetes Education Section of Canadian Diabetes Association.
Family Health Team (HHFHT)
The FHT Registered Dieititian (RD) is a specialist in nutrition, and responsible for the nutrition care of clients identified as moderate to high risk for chronic disease, or clients living with chronic disease. Working in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the RD will share expertise and knowledge of nutrient care with clients and their families, as well as other health care professionals. The FHT RD has obtained a Baccalaureate of Sicene in Nutrition or equivalent, has current registration with the Ontario College of Dietitians and is a member of the Dietitians of Canada.
